Zij namen op diezelfde dag dezelfde straten,
doch ze misten elkaar telkens weer op enkele
minuten na en in het koffiehuis was de rekening
van de ene pas vereffend toen de ander zich
voelde aangespoord daar enige tijd door te brengen.

Thuisgekomen werd van dit alles niets genoteerd,
evenmin was er enige voldoening over de voorbije
uitstap, maar er werd koffie gezet en een krant
doorgenomen en van dan af aan uitgekeken naar de volgende
dag en gedroomd van veranderende weersomstandigheden.
